Edmundo Sanchez

Regular price

This is our fifth year working with Edmundo Sanchez, a partner who has consistently produced really excellent coffee on his farm, Finca el Mango. Edmundo is part of a collective called the Catracha project, a social enterprise dedicated to accessing the specialty coffee market for farmers in Santa Elena, La Paz, Honduras. One dollar of every pound we sell of this coffee goes directly to benefit the Catracha Project.

Region: Santa Elena, Honduras
Processing: Washed
Varietal: Bourbon, Catuai

Elevation: 1800 MASL
Tasting Notes: Chocolate Cake, Apple, Almond

The Catracha coffee program was started by Mayra Orellana-Powell in 2010. She realized that she could have an impact on the farmers and community of La Paz by helping improve coffee quality and find opportunities in the specialty coffee market. We are excited to work with Edmundo solely based on his coffee, but the mssion that he is part of as a member of Catracha is really special. As Catracha states in their identity statement, they are "investing in the community of Santa Elena through the power of specialty coffee" and we are proud to be a partner.

Our coffee bags are now recyclable - just return your used bag to any of our cafés and we'll take care of the rest.
