Flor Pechene

Regular price

This is the second harvest that we've been able to purchase Flor Pechene's coffee. It's always a bit mind-blowing when previously exceptional coffees from standout producers somehow get better, and that's exactly what happened with Flor's coffee. A beautiful representation of coffee from this region of Colombia, we find notes of dried fruit, citrus, and brown sugar in this balanced and lively cup.

Origin: Inza, Colombia
Processing: Washed
Varietal: Tabi, Yellow Bourbon

Elevation: 1800 MASL
Tasting Notes: Fruit Leather, Citrus, Brown Sugar

We had the chance to visit Flor's farm in July of 2022 and have been huge fans ever since. It would be hard to overstate her passion for producing the highest quality coffees and the results are clear to see in the cup. The amazing thing to see is how this has been a lifelong pursuit for Flor. She has produced coffee since she was a child and, like many coffee-growing families in Colombia, picking and processing coffee was a family affair during the harvest. For years, her family farmed commercial-grade coffee, selling it for low prices in town. Now, she works alongside her husband to produce extremely high quality coffees that have competed in Cup of Excellence. Flor dreams of being recognized within Colombia and abroad for producing excellent coffee, and to that end, she and her husband are constantly learning and innovating on their farm, with increasingly stunning results.

Our coffee bags are now recyclable - just return your used bag to any of our cafés and we'll take care of the rest.
