Good decaffeinated coffee is an underappreciated endeavor, but we’re glad to be able to serve this blend by small shareholders from Cauca and Huila. Expect citrus notes, a creamy body, and fudge-like sweetness.
EA decaf is a process in which coffee beans are soaked in a fermented sugar solution, ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate is a polar molecule, which means it is a good solvent for capturing the polar caffeine molecules in coffee. After the decaffeination process is complete the beans are thoroughly cleaned of any traces of ethyl acetate and ready to be packaged for export.
