Kenyan coffees are wild and unique coffees that showcase vibrant and punchy acidity with creamy, luscious body. This coffee is no exception to that. We taste a cup that is packed with flavor and yet very balanced. Dried fruit, fruit leather and strawberries are layered and supported with blackberry like acidity.
This coffee comes to us from a recently formed partnership aimed at bringing new life to an area where coffee formerly thrived. Dwindling production, corruption and the poverty that followed painted a bleak picture for the farmers bringing their cherry to the Thiriku Cooperative. This new partnership with Trabocca brings increased transparency, renewed focus on quality and double or more the pay going to farmers. In addition to financial backing, an agronomist has been made available to the farmers to help implement certain farming guidelines with hopes that production will at least double in three years and cupping scores will continue to go up.
