Our second release from Peru in a row, this coffee grown by Nery Rioja was too good to turn down. In the cup we get mango and other tropical fruits, pink Starburst candy, and a creamy body.
Nery Rioja owns a 2.5 hectare plot on a farm called La Lucuma where he grows strictly Caturra. He and his family live and work on the farm with an additional four employees during the harvest months of July to October. Due to climate change affecting farms at the high altitude of 1900 meters above sea level, Rioja has had to install shade trees around the growing areas, a more effective irrigation system, and a more effective fertilizer dispersion system to maintain soil health.
