We’re very used to tea from China (the traditional home of the plant) but I believe this to be the first tea from the Sichuan Province in China (sometimes transliterated ‘Szechuan’ or ‘Szechwan’). This black tea is from a subtropical area of the province, which is divided into two somewhat distinct geographic areas--low and subtropical in the east and mountainous in the west.
