Bursting with juicy notes of bright stone-fruits, the Eithiop Yukro is like a peach at peak ripeness. Even more impressive is how smoothly this melds into a tropical juiciness on its way to a lingering honey-sweet finish. Nature has a way of being cleverly culinary, if only we let her express those flavors fully. We’re please offer you the full flavors this Yukro region of Ethiopia has to offer.
The Ethiopia Yukro is one of those hidden gems that was just waiting to be discovered, and Coffea has hit the jackpot. We’re are fortunate to be getting our hands on this coffee during the region’s exponential rise well deserved attention. The region (Jimma, Ethiopia) was more known for very low-grade, cheap products until about 2010 because of poor processing methods. Despite this, some industry leaders recognized real potential hiding underneath defects caused by the unfortunate mistakes being made post-harvest. Thankfully, Yukro and other coops in the area began experimenting with new washing stations and have since made huge strides in more modern processing. The resulting product makes for one of the most exciting coffees we’ve had in a long while. This is a direct quote from our Head Roaster, Andrew Fritz, “I want to drink this coffee and never stop drinking it.”
