This is our fourth year purchasing coffee from Edmundo. This is also the first year that we were able to secure his entire lot! This coffee is part of the Catracha Project, a program that was started to give back to the community of La Paz.

The Catracha Coffee program was started by Mayra Orellana-Powell in 2010. She realized that she could have an impact on the farmers and the community of her home by helping improve coffee quality. We have been purchasing Edmundo's coffee since 2017 and we are happy to say that we have been able to watch the quality of his coffee improve over the years. This year we were able to purchase his entire harvest and we are very excited to have Edmundo's coffee return to our menu. Edmundo is the owner of Finca el Mango, his 2.5 acre farm that produces bourbon and catuai coffee. Finca el Mango is located in the municipality of Santa Elena and is situated at 1800 meters above sea level. Edmundo receives premiums for the quality of his coffee and all the profits and premiums go directly to Edmundo. He has now been able to support his wife and three children solely off of his coffee production. We are proud to share Edmundo's coffee with you even though we really want to drink it all ourselves.
