Our resident tea-master at Coffea, Doug Hair, has this to say about it, "The benefit of this over a tea-bag is that as the tea brews in the chamber, the leaves have the opportunity to expand fully. You get a more uniform extraction of tea leaves. Think of an oolong that needs to unfurl. Short of using a traditional pot, you risk only getting at the outside of the dried tea and leaving the inner portion under-extracted. Its greatest quality is its simplicity: its large chamber lets the tea breath, it brews only as long as it needs to, and its easy to clean."
