Decaf is not something that we shy away from or consider "less than." We're proud to feature some incredible origins and processes in our Decaf lineup, and we are really happy to offer a Mountain Water Process (MWP) Decaf for the first time. This process excels at maintaining the unique elements of origin while removing caffeine. The smallholder members behind this coffee are dedicated to environmental protection as well as producing high-quality coffees organically. In the cup, we get a mellow, balanced coffee with highlights of raisin and horchata.

Sierra Azul is a certified-organic and Fair Trade organization located in the buffer zone of the El Triunfo Biosphere in Chiapas, Mexico. This is a Mountain Water Processed to remove caffeine. Their process excels at maintaining the unique elements of origin while removing caffeine. It starts with a 'Green Coffee Extract (GCE)' in one tank and fresh crop beans in another. Seeking equilibrium, caffeine compounds migrate across a series of carbon filters, which trap it for removal. The GCE is refreshed and ready for re-use. By leveraging temperature and time, the end result is 99.9% caffeine-free.

Our coffee bags are now recyclable - just return your used bag to any of our cafés and we'll take care of the rest.
