Regular price

This coffee comes from many smallholder farmers from Gitwe Hill in the Kayanza province of Burundi, and is processed by the Long Miles coffee team at the Heza Washing Station.  In the cup, expect sweet stone fruit reminiscent of canned peaches or peach jam, a dried fruit sweetness, and a honey-like florality and body.

Origin: Kayanza, Burundi
Processing: Honey
Varietal: Bourbon

Elevation: 1900-2100 MASL
Tasting Notes: Dried Fruit, Peach Jam, Honey

Importing Partner: Long Miles Coffee/Osito Coffee

Founded by Ben And Kristy Carlson in 2013, the Long Miles Coffee Project serves as an inspiring point of connection between rural Burundian coffee farmers and the international specialty coffee market. The Heza Washing Station, where this coffee is processed, is extremely remote. It is surrounded by communities largely made up of coffee farmers. Heza means 'beautiful place' in Kirundi, the local language of Burundi. With panoramic views, an ever-changing East African sky, and incredible coffee and people, this washing station lives up to its name.

Our coffee bags are now recyclable - just return your used bag to any of our cafés and we'll take care of the rest.
