Mt. Ijen

Regular price

When this coffee from Mt. Ijen came across our cupping table, we had to jump on it. In the cup, we find big notes of fruit candy, strawberry, and chocolate ganache.

Origin: East Java, Indonesia
Processing: Natural
Varietal: Typica, Lini, S288, S795

Elevation: 1100-1500 MASL
Tasting Notes: Fruit Candy, Strawberry, Ganache

The volcanic soil surrounding Mt. Ijen provides ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, and the region is known for coffees with big fruity profiles. Mt. Ijen is part of an active volcanic line called the Ijen Geopark, located in East Java. Atop the mountain is the world's largest acidic crater lake, known for the blue flames created by its active sulfur mines. We typically don't feature many coffees from this part of the world, but our roasting team fell hard for this coffee. The natural process helps to bring out a big body, jammy fruits, and chocolate. We hope you enjoy it, too.

Our coffee bags are now recyclable - just return your used bag to any of our cafés and we'll take care of the rest.
