Shanyun #24
This is not tea; at least, not by the technical understanding of Camellia sinensis. The 24th entry in the Taiwanese Tea Research and Extension Station’s catalogue is from centuries-old wild mountain parents — a distinct species with a unique morphology: long, linear leaves. Dubbed ‘Shan Yun’, the plant is naturally vigorous and well-adapted to climate change. Rich in amino acids and low in caffeine, we get balanced sweetness and earthiness with notes of dulche de leche, almond, and maitake with a mild cha qi.
Origin: Taitung County, Taiwan
Process: Wulong
Notes: Dulche de Leche, Almond, Maitake
Brewing instructions are included on the tin.
