Edmundo Sanchez

Regular price

This is our sixth year working with Edmundo Sanchez, a partner who has consistently produced really excellent coffee on his farm, Finca el Mango. Edmundo is part of a collective called the Catracha project, a social enterprise dedicated to accessing the specialty coffee market for farmers in Santa Elena, La Paz, Honduras. In the cup, we taste chocolate and cashew with an overall pleasingly balanced, mellow profile.

Origin: Santa Elena, Honduras
Processing: Washed
Varietal: Bourbon, Catuai

Elevation: 1800 MASL
Tasting Notes: Chocolate, Cashew, Mellow

The Catracha coffee program was established by Mayra Orellana-Powell in 2010. Mayra had a dream to start a coffee business that would impact the community where she was born and raised by helping improve coffee quality and creating opportunities in the specialty coffee market for local farmers. Today, she and her husband Lowell continue in that mission with an ever growing impact and focus on transparency in the coffee supply chain. As Catracha states in their identity statement, they are "investing in the community of Santa Elena through the power of specialty coffee" and we are proud to be a partner. Edmundo's coffee has been a paragon of consistency over the years, and we're excited to have his coffee back for another season.

Our coffee bags are now recyclable - just return your used bag to any of our cafés and we'll take care of the rest.
