Murago Kebele is a coffee-producing area in the well-known Bensa Woreda, located in the Sidama Region of eastern Ethiopia. Murago is known for its densely layered semi-forest vegetation, which includes shade-grown coffee trees, false bananas, and other crops. It's a prime example of an ideal agroecology for coffee cultivation. Niguse Nara's site, Murango, receives most of its cherries from 35 relatives who farm in the surrounding area.

For this anaerobic process, intact coffee cherries are placed in large barrels with water and sealed from oxygen for 56 hours. After fermentation, the pulp and mucilage are removed, and the beans are dried in the sun on raised beds for 25–30 days until they reach the proper moisture content.

Our coffee bags are now recyclable - just return your used bag to any of our cafés and we'll take care of the rest.
